Free / Paid Trials
Giving Paid and Free Trials to your Chatroom Users to explore your service at a discounted rate.
When a user purchases a role, they put their card on file and when the free day limit that the server owner sets, their credit card will be billed and their billing cycle will begin from the day the trial ends. Free trials work the same on PayPal, Stripe and any other payment platforms we add.
To check if a PayPal user is on trial, please load the Upgrade.Chat control panel and search for the user with a date in the future.
FREE TRIALS CAN ONLY BE USED ON SUBSCRIPTIONS. (Not One Time Purchases)
To check the trial status of a member in STRIPE, please search that customer in your STRIPE dashboard: https://dashboard.stripe.com/subscriptions
Trial Days are CALENDAR DAYS, not Business Days. Consecutive Days.
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE PAYMENTS UNTIL A CUSTOMER HAS PAID YOU AFTER THEIR FREE TRIAL IS OVER. ONLY WHEN THEY PAY AFTER THE TRIAL WILL YOU GET PAID!
You can set cancellation (trial ending) reminders IN STRIPE: https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic
User can cancel their trial before the trial ends by typing $downgrade in your server or visiting their customer profile to cancel: https://upgrade.chat/profile The trial will end instantly and they will not be billed provided they cancelled before.
ONLY ONE FREE TRIAL PER USER PER SERVER IS ALLOWED TO PREVENT ABUSE. THIS CANNOT BE CHANGED.
Simply toggle the Paymentless free trial switch on when you create your Upgrade, and people will be able to upgrade without inputting any payment info.
Since there is no payment method on file, the access will be removed at the end of the trial and the user will need to Upgrade again to purchase access.
Simply create your upgrade for sale and a coupon that is only valid for the first billing cycle.
